Born in Ramanthali, near Payyanur, Kerala, Manoj Kodiyath did his studies at GHS Ramanathali, Payyanur College, and Nehru Arts & Science College, Kanhangad.
A self-confessed accidental writer, he admits to having started reading seriously when he was forced to stay at home during the Covid pandemic.
Pushed by a friend to write a memoir for his school group, he was surprised when the piece was highly appreciated and widely discussed in the group and beyond.  Encouraged, he began writing short pieces and shared them on various social media platforms.
Enthused by the response  and advice from well-wishers including his batchmate Prof. RVM Divakaran (Head-Malayalam Dept., Calicut University College)- Manoj dove into the world of short story writing.
His first story, 'Aysha', which was praised for having ‘a unique flow’, was published on Thasrak.com, an online publication based in the UAE, and went on to bag the third place in a story writing competition conducted by Mehfil, Dubai.
His first book, 'Kimaya' (Miracle), a collection of eight short stories, was unveiled at the Sharjah International Book Fair in November 2022, and earned rave reviews.
Manoj is currently working on his second book, a collection of short stories. A sales manager for a car leasing company, Manoj’s interests include photography and travel. He lives in Dubai with his wife, Smita, and two children, Samiksha and Srimay.
